Sound afro e beat moombahton si incontrano nel singolo dell’estate 2017: è infatti pronto per travolgere le radio da venerdì 9 giugno, “Sunrise”, il nuovo singolo di Jillionaire, alias Cristopher Leacock, dj e produttore, già membro del gruppo multi-platino Major Lazer, con Fuse ODG e Fatman Scoop. Un inno da oltre 2 milioni di stream su Spotify, che vede nella prima luce del giorno il punto di svolta che trasforma la gioia di un amore nato sul dancefloor in un un rapporto dal futuro ancora più brillante.

In questo pezzo Jillionaire si unisce a Fuse ODG (Nana Richard Abiona), l’MC originario del Ghana che ha ha arricchito con il suo inconfonidbile afrobeat pop ‘Light It Up’, la hit inclusa nel terzo album di Major Lazer, “Peace Is The Mission”. Il coinvolgente frestyle di Fatman Scoop contribusce a dare un appeal ancora più radiofonico al pezzo così come a renderlo adatto a performance nei più importanti festival internazionali.
“Sono stato a Londra e ho incontrato Fatman Scoop nel suo studio. Mi ha accennato che voleva lavorare con Fuse. Ho contattato Fuse e lui si è unito al gruppo,” racconta Jillionaire sulla sessione di registrazione. “Tutte le voci sono state registrate quella notte, eravamo tutti nello stesso posto e questo accade raramente”, aggiunge l’artista. La maestosa voce di Fatman Scoop unita alle coinvolgenti melodie di Fuse ODG è anche un sottile omaggio a “Lose Control”, il singolo che è valso un Grammy Award a Scoop.

La pubblicazione di “Sunrise” nel 2017 segna un altro passo importante per Jillionaire e per Feel Up Records. L’etichetta che ha fondato a Brooklin ha infatti celebrato il suo terzo anniversario lo scorso marzo. “Sunrise” segue “Television”, il singolo che Jillionaire ha pubblicato lo scorso anno, che vede la collaborazione del “vichingo del soca”, Bunji Garlin e del produttore del Queens Richie Beretta.
